200-100,000 m3/day INSTALLATIONS AND WORKS


     To the orders of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, we have elaborated 200, 400, 800 m3/day biological sewage purification stations (both capital and plant versions). Stations of analogous capacity were designed for Far North territories to the order of Ministry of Housing and Construction of the Russian Federation.
      For settlements and cities we have elaborated designs of purification works from 200 to 25,000 m3/day CW capacity consisting of sections which work autonomously and are interconnected through a common mixing chamber, technological pipelines and circulating pumps.

     Combined works on 12 thous. m3/day for the town of Volsk of the Saratov Region.

     CW application provides for:
      - process reliability due to the use, as a major equipment, of low-head pumps, as well as long preservation of biomass vital functions within biofilters. Therefore active sludge is soon recovered within aerotank settlers after stoppage of work;

     - impurities concentration reduction from BOD 100 - 1,000 to 7 - 15 mg/L, suspended matters from 100 - 400 to 3 - 10 mg/L. This high purification effect is due to the fact that CW are ideal mixing reactors; due to a long contact with biofilter and aerotank microflora and availability of an active sludge filtering layer within the settlers;

     - maximum use of air oxygen (up to 20% from the total) due to repeated circulation through the biofilter and aeration tank, which permits to 3-5 times reduce the amount of outer air in biochemical processes and, correspondingly, optimise the heat conditions of the works operation in cold seasons;

     - CW sealed design with the used air treatment provides clean operation mode. That is why CWs may be located directly within residential districts (biological purification station in village Abrau-Dyurso [see the picture] is located at a 30 m distance from comfortable cottages and 16 m from a sanitary complex. Wastewater treatment plants of the city of Volsk equipped with used air wet purification installations are located at a distance of 100 m away from a dwelling zone);

     - Full use of the pumps' power to activate the biofilter, feed oxygen, stir the aeration tank content, ventilation in the works, enables to reduce specific power consumption down to 0.4-0.5 kW/h/kgBOD. That is why power consumption is here 3-4 times lower than within conventional aeration works.
